Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture is the process of stimulating particular points on the body to allow for a better flow of energy, restoring the natural balance. In traditional chinese medicine (TCM) energy referred to as Qi (chi) travels through pathways in the body called meridians. Acupuncture points lie on specific anatomic locations along the 12 meridians. If there is a blockage along these pathways, the flow of energy becomes limited.

Once an imbalance or pattern in the patient is identified, treatment at specific points along the meridians improves the flow of energy and blood throughout the various organ systems in the body. Acupuncture treatments bring the body back into a balanced state while providing natural pain relief, regulating the immune system, and decreasing inflammation.

Acupuncture treatments are often incorporated into chiropractic sessions, at the doctor’s discretion. Aqua-puncture and electroacupunture are common variants used in addition to or in place of dry needling techniques, to further stimulate the acupuncture points of focus.
